Many people think the Child Protective Services is the friend of children and the family. Unfortunately, families that have come into contact with the CPS often feel differently.  While there are some good caseworkers, most caseworkers seem more interested in exerting their power over the family than they are in helping people. Even if you have been falsely accused of child abuse, most caseworkers will not treat you fairly. If you have been accused, you will be treated as guilty until you can prove otherwise.
When dealing with CPS workers, you need to think one way and act another.
Until and unless you have a basis for thinking otherwise,
trust a CPS worker like you would a rattlesnake.
Trust the CPS worker like a rattlesnake
    But always
            treat
    the CPS worker with deference
    ,
as if the worker is your
    Uncle Joe and Aunt Suzy
who have you in their will for a million dollars. You'd do just about anything to make them happy.
The CPS worker has great power, and she is willing to use it against you if you make her mad or irritated.
