Radio8ball.com is an outgrowth of the Radio 8-Ball show.

In the late 90's Olympia, Washington residents were treated to the mystic musings of Andras Jones and his guests on Radio 8-Ball on KAOS Olympia (89.3 FM). The show is no longer on the air but The oracle survives.

People called in to the show with questions and then AJ and his guests picked CD's at random and played them on shuffle function. The song which was randomly chosen was the answer to the question. The results were often suprisingly accurate.

At radio8ball.com, users are invited to type in a question, and their answer is delivered in the form of an mp3. There are 78 songs in the shuffler at any time, each corresponding to a tarot card so that people may cross-reference using a known divining tool*.

The songs are a mix of Andras' music, and rare recordings by veteran acts like John Lennon, Pete Townshend, Rickie Lee Jones & The Kinks and newer artists like Dan Bern, Jon Brion, Josh Clayton-Felt & Mirah.

Now that you've heard about it you have to try it. The site takes a few minutes to load the first time but after that it comes up pretty quick.
