(1997)
The Previous' return to the horror-filled high school halls of yesteryear.
A requiem for a "loser" named Dennis Bland, this project blends laughs
and laments in an aggressive "pop" atmosphere that "snaps" and "crackles"
as well.

Marshall Thompson: Keyboards
Colin Mahoney: Drums
Recorded by Kevin Suggs, Earle Mankey & John Russel
"Every one of these songs is a polished & sparkling gem. The infectious
tuneful music is played with punk enthusiasm & pop polish."

(1996)
The band's most ambitious studio endeavor to date. Written in
1989, and in and out of production since then, it is the chronicle of
a particularly dark night of the soul and features thirteen songs interwoven
to create a unified song cycle that showcases the band's versatility as
well as Andras Jones' muse at its wittiest and most impassioned. Recorded
in Boston by Mike Deneen (producer of Aimee Mann and Letters To Cleo),
The Hard Feelings is a lush and intimate wallow for young lovers.

"In a world of bombastic riff and groove this CD is an invitation
to something else. I listened to it alone in the pre-evening grey and
drifted into dreams of love and loss. It is the sort of record I would
only recommend to someone I trust."

(1993)
This recording delves into the political arena from a mystic revolutionary
standpoint. Inspired by the 100th Monkey Project organized by Rick Springer,
this is both one of Mr. J & the P's most popular and most misinterpreted
recordings to date. It also features a 32 page fact-filled graphic novel
by Salt Lake City artist Joseph Briggs.

"Recorded live in May '92 in downtown Los Angeles, this album crackles
with energy and passion. Mr. Jones walks a delightfully fine line in delivering
songs with social impact, never preachy, filled with imagery, wit and
honesty"

(1991)
A powerful statement about artistic integrity in the face of the hypocrisy
and cynicism of the record industry. Driving rhythms and snarling guitars
mix with harmonica and violin to generate an ironic atmosphere for Mr.
J's dissatisfaction. Produced with Earle Mankey (The Beach Boys, Concrete
Blonde).
Andras Jones: Vocals & Acoustic Guitar
Clay Goldstein: Harmonica
Walt Vincent: Bass

"Some thirty years ago, people flocked to California. Now people are
getting the flock out. This could be the soundtrack to that growing un-exodus
- the flipside downside to everthing The Mamas and The Papas ever stood
for as seen through the eyes of a struggling band..."

(1995)
The music on this particular collection is neither lounge nor grunge,
but rather what I like to call "lunge" music - that is, songs
and performances which leap out at you, demanding your attention. Sometimes
it can be as soft as a kitten's tail. Other times, it's as if someone
is sharpening a pencil in your ear. Either way, this CD is your passkey
to wondrous, far-away places where you'll meet lots of new and interesting
people. Some will say the right things and win you over immediately. Others
will sneeze food out of their nose and onto your sleeve and you'll never
want to see them again. Yowza!
CD: $15
" Suprisingly cohesive, this compilation pulls together independent
acts from across the country and from all over the musical spectrum. Spew
scores a hit right off with their supercharged, radio-ready "Fascist"...Other
highlights are the Costello influenced Serene Dominic...and Bill WhiteAcre,
who invokes the spirit of Dave Matthews with both his soulful guitar and
soft spoken vocals. Are any of these guys going to be huge? I dunno. In
the event that they never become superstars, it would be a damn shame
to let these folks slip away unheard."
