"THE BURNING BUSH" by Arnold Friberg is now available. It was just released June 1999. The spiritual scene pictured is one of the famed series of Biblical events painted by Arnold Friberg for Cecil B. DeMille's monumental motion picture, The Ten Commandments. Here, Friberg shows Moses as awestruck and humble before the bush that burns from within while Moses hears the voice of God. This Biblical event took place on the slopes of the holy mountain called Sinai. The story is best told by the Bible itself, condensed from the book of Exodus: "And Moses looked and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed." "And God called unto him out of the midst of the bush and said, 'Moses, Moses!' And he said, 'Here am I.'" "Moreover he said, 'I am the God of your father - the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.'" "Then he said, 'Put off thy shoes from thy feet, for the palace whereon thou standest is holy ground.'" "And the Lord said, 'I have surely seen the oppression of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters.'" "Come now, therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh that thou mayest bring forth My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt." "And Moses said unto God, 'Who am I that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?" "And the Lord said unto him, 'I will be with thee.'"
The unique talent of Arnold Fribeg have capture forever the spirit of this sublime transcendental moment in history for mankind. |
